Stood in front of the students I felt a sense of pride as they called out what schools they were from, launched into a chorus of chants and took to the streets of Canterbury in protest.
I am no environmentalist, but I understand their passion for the planet and their right to stand up for something they believe in, it’s a shame the Governments and corporations of the world don’t share their views.
When I was their age I was playing football in the park and on the playstation when it got dark (can you still buy playsations??). Seeing them stood in front of hundreds of people speaking so eloquently about climate change and the environment was a sight to behold. Their parents should be proud, despite the school detentions waiting for some of them.
I hope my daughter grows up to be just like these kids….viva the revolution!!
